Steps Towards Legalization of Euthanasia in Portugal

In a world where everyone has their own beliefs and opinions, sometimes being extremely polarized, the subject of Euthanasia raises lot uncertainties questions. It is way more than just medical ethical problem, legal, religious, political, philosophical arguments are brought into discussion. As societies evolve, this topic viewed changes, for reason number countries which have legalized euthanasia or assisted suicide growing. Despite different perspectives, either side debate same concern: respect principle human dignity.
 Portuguese society been considering long time, prospect having law that allows patients in situation permanent unbearable suffering to end lives was parliament approved first time January 2021 then declared unconstitutional by Constitutional Court vetoed President The Republic March 2021. Subsequently, after change decree clarified initial doubts led its rejection, document again Marcelo November More recently, June 2022 new version decriminalization approved, opinions divided, country awaiting response from President, who already affirmed everything open.
 Therefore, it relevant understand legal aspects related subject. For purpose research, necessary comprehend order thoughts views leading possible future decriminalization.
